Prior to filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August 2023, Proterra supplied transit buses and battery systems to public transit agencies across North America. Proterra's battery technology division was acquired by a consortium and continues to supply heavy-duty EV battery systems to OEM customers. The transit bus manufacturing was separated.
